This project is an interpretation of Platform 9¾ imagined as a ruined exterior environment. The focus was on translating a familiar fictional location into a believable, weathered space while maintaining strong composition and atmosphere.
The diorama served as a technically and conceptually learning-heavy project. It required working with large-scale assets and tileable textures, as well as building a modular environment supported by decals to add variation and visual wear. Multiple base materials were blended using vertex painting to achieve natural transitions across surfaces.
Procedural spline-based assets were developed for the railroad and surrounding vines, allowing flexible placement and iteration within the scene. Foliage wind animation was also implemented to introduce subtle motion and enhance the sense of a living environment despite the ruined setting.
