Procedural Paper Lantern

Here's a set of procedural paper lanterns I created using Blueprints in Unreal Engine! Each lantern is fully customizable, allowing for easy adjustments to single or double, and on and off lighting. I focused on making the materials realistic, with a subtle translucency that mimics the soft glow of traditional paper lanterns. The blueprints give flexibility for variation in real-time, making them optimized for dynamic lighting setups in the level editor.

Blueprint controls all the variable options. Lights on/off, double or single decker, short/long tail.

Texture maps in 512px. Base colour, Normal, and ORM map. Base colour map also contains alpha to depict translucency of the lantern paper. It's a small asset made to be visible from far away, so I kept it at low resolution.
